Havering Council are looking for to hire a Public Protection Officer (Enviormental Protection).

  • £40 per hour.

Description:

  • In this role you will be investigating complaints regarding environmental protection and statutory nuisance.
  • You will have experience in at least one of the following areas noise/ acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality or contaminated land.
  • Your work will cover parts of these aspects and also include providing comments on licensing and planning applications. As a regulatory role you will carry out appropriate enforcement, respond to complaints of nuisance, and/or air quality and/or contaminated land depending on your specific specialisim.
  • You will need to serve notices as necessary abe be expected to attend court and other hearings to provide evidence and lead on prosecutions under the council's enforcement policy.
  • As part of the team you will undertake a multi-disciplined enforcement caseload and be able to manage your work effectively.
  • This may include undertaking monitoring visits at unsociable hours though not on an on call basis (subject to manger approval).

You will be based as a hybrid of home working and from the Town Hall, in Romford with the expectation of site visits where required.
