Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Lead, supervise, and support a team of nursing staff, ensuring that patient care standards are consistently met. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior nurses and healthcare assistants, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Patient Care: Deliver advanced clinical care, assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and providing ongoing evaluation. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed, and act as a clinical expert in your area of practice.
- Clinical Practice: Take responsibility for complex patient cases, perform advanced clinical procedures, and contribute to the implementation of new evidence-based practices. Ensure that best practice guidelines are adhered to and that patient safety is prioritized at all times.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that patient care services are continuously assessed, improved, and delivered to a high standard. Assist in audits and reviews to evaluate patient outcomes.
- Staff Development & Training: Lead and support the training and professional development of nursing staff. Identify areas for improvement and provide in-house training or facilitate access to external learning opportunities. Participate in performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients. Liaise with medical staff, physiotherapists, social workers, and other team members to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Clinical Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, local and national regulations, and professional standards. Take responsibility for maintaining accurate patient records and contributing to regulatory audits or inspections.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. Provide emotional support to patients and their families and ensure that they are fully informed and involved in their care decisions.
