We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join our team in Queen’s Park. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early years education and possess strong leadership skills to ensure the smooth running of the room through effective planning, preparation, and organisation in accordance with our nursery policies and procedures.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Observe and document children’s daily activities.
  • Create and implement exciting, age-appropriate activities for the children in your care.
  • Engage with children in a manner that promotes positive relationships and interactions.
  • Work in partnership with parents to provide a positive learning experience for all children, regardless of race, culture, or religious background.
  • Ensure parents/carers are well informed of their children’s progress and feel welcome in the nursery.
  • Have responsibility for key children, documenting their progress daily and creating termly written reports.
  • Role model knowledge and learning opportunities to children.
  • Manage and support a small team of 4 staff, sharing skills and fostering a collaborative environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Childcare.
  • Demonstrable full knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the ability to demonstrate this knowledge at the interview stage.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
  • Creativity in providing age-appropriate activities.
  • Commitment, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to follow nursery policies and procedures.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary of £27,000 per annum.
  • Nursery hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with an hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks per day.
  • Non-contact time provided for key workers to catch up with children’s profiles and weekly planning.
  • The nursery is closed for 5 weeks of the year, providing additional time off during Easter, August, and Christmas.
