Reed Human Resources are looking to recruit a HR Business Partner on a permanent basis

As the People Business Partner, you will support the organisation deliver a high quality and effective service from a people perspective by:

  • Providing guidance on People practices such as restructures and employee relations
  • Bringing People expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy
  • Influencing and building relationships with line managers 
  • Acting as a local point of People expertise for teams that are implementing new people approaches
  • Coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders to help improve business efficiency

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Advising and supporting employees and managers in all areas of People matters which includes, recruitment, employment, policy, and procedures
  1. To lead on People casework and employee relations with regards to conduct, performance, grievance, TUPE, restructures, and sickness absence
  1. Driving line manager capability, providing management coaching in complex or performance related cases and the delivery of people processes
  1. Promoting best practice and compliance with employment legislation, policies & procedures ensuring consistency of approach and application
  1. Responsible for the provision of timely & accurate information, reports and analysis 
  1. Contributing to the regular review of the effectiveness of systems, processes and practices as it affects service delivery and collaborating with other stakeholders in this process
  1. Maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  1. Responsible for achieving, monitoring, & contributing to the People plan
  1. Work on a range of People initiatives and assist the People team on various projects
  1. Supporting key stakeholders across the organisation through the People team, influencing and guiding on strategic issues such as OD and workforce planning
  1. Championing the delivery of effective people strategies which are inclusive and diverse and consistent with the business values 
  1. To partner with the business to drive the diversity and inclusion, culture and engagement and wellbeing agendas and outputs
  1. To manage, motivate and develop the People Coordinator.

You may on occasions, and in necessary circumstances, be called upon to undertake work in other locations other than your usual base of work, in order to ensure effective delivery of the People service. 

As the People Business Partner, you will adopt and comply with the business's ethos and values, policies and procedures, and regulatory frameworks including, Code of Conduct, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience within a People / People generalist role, ideally qualified to CIPD Level 7 or working towards this
  • Strong track record and knowledge of UK HR legislation to manage the ER caseload
  • Experience of effective use of data to provide insights that drive the strategic People plan
  • Great attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good level of IT literacy in particular Excel, strong written and verbal communication skills
