Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Neuro & Acute Team at Barts NHS Trust. This role involves managing a complex caseload, providing assessments and rehabilitation to patients with neurological conditions, and supporting their recovery to improve independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload of acute neurological and neurosurgical patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation plans for patients with neuro trauma and other neurological conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and medical teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Implement specialized occupational therapy interventions to facilitate patient recovery.
  • Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide ongoing support to patients and caregivers.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation goals and long-term management strategies.
Requirements
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-registration experience, with a strong background in neurological and neurosurgical rehabilitation.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads in an acute hospital setting.
  • Expertise in neuro trauma rehabilitation is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Previous NHS or similar healthcare experience is essential.
