Job Overview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Emergency Department and Medical Occupational Therapy teams at St George's Hospital. This split-role position offers a diverse and dynamic environment, providing opportunities to make a significant impact on patient care.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Spend three days per week with the Admission Avoidance Therapy Team in the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit. Conduct rapid assessments and facilitate seamless discharges in collaboration with community colleagues, local authorities, and the voluntary sector.
- Dedicate two days per week with the Medical Occupational Therapy Team, delivering acute rehabilitation, conducting assessments, and supporting timely discharges alongside the physiotherapy team and multidisciplinary ward staff.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Ideally, 18 months post-graduate experience, including work in the Emergency Department.
- Strong skills in assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to patient care.
