Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 4/4:30pm

An opportunity has arisen for Occupational Therapist,experience working with children who have SEMH needsto join an outstanding independent therapeutic school, offering education and therapy for pupils with adverse childhood experiences.

In this role, you will support both staff and pupils throughout the school day by implementing planned interventions, demonstrating in-class strategies, and facilitating activities to help pupils manage their emotional well-being.

You will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating occupational therapy ethically and with the consent of parents/carers/pupils.
  • Assessing pupils' needs, tailoring therapeutic programmes, and documenting progress.
  • Maintaining accurate therapy records and contributing detailed information to pupil reports.
  • Collaborating with educational and therapeutic teams to develop and implement pupil progress plans.
  • Engaging regularly with families, providing updates, and participating in parent/carer open days.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as an Occupational Therapist or in a similar role.
  • Relevant experience working in classroom or similar environments with children who exhibit SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Accredited completion of an occupational therapy programme, with certification and registration with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g., HCPC).
  • In-depth understanding of child mental health, trauma, and the effects of adverse early experiences.
  • Strong proficiency in English and Mathematics.
