About the Role

The client based locally to Waltham Forest is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a temporary basis to cover short-term sickness leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to our dynamic and supportive team, providing essential care and support to adults in a community setting.

Please note: Only candidates with Moving and Handling experience and community-based adult care experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake highly complex casework within a statutory adult setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop support plans based on a strength-based approach.
  • Work closely with service users, families, and carers to deliver culturally sensitive and responsive care.
  • Make evidence-based decisions, ensuring timely interventions and effective care planning.
  • Systematically monitor, review, and adapt support plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance on moving and handling practices.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with statutory requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant post-qualification experience in an Occupational Therapy setting.
  • Experience working in a community-based adult care setting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of assessing and managing complex risks.
  • Ability to work with a strength-based approach to care planning.
  • Strong understanding of intervention methods and their effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and IT skills.
  • Budgetary awareness and ability to work within allocated resources.
  • HCPC Registration is mandatory.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • 5 years of references/work history.
  • HCPC Registration.

Interview Process:

  • Target interview date: 27 February 2025 (Online).
  • Interviews will be 40 minutes long and conducted online or via telephone.
  • Interviews will take place on 6th or 7th March 2025.
