Occupational Therapist

Contract: 3-6 months initially with the view of extension

Daily rate: £200 per day (negotiable depending on experience)

Location: Camden

Our Local Authority Client in Camden are seeking an Occupational Therapist to support their Logistics Team.

The Team are responsible for managing and booking transportation, predominantly for Special Educational Needs and Adult Social Care clients travelling in buses and taxis but this may also extend to other transport options and ensuring that all users are risk assessed for travelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of referrals, carrying out mobility assessments in person or virtually and completing professional assessment reports in line with Camden's transport policy and procedures and national legislation.
  • Undertake assessments for both passenger transport and statutory concessionary travel schemes.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to the Concessionary Travel Case officers where appropriate as part of client applications for concessionary travel schemes.
  • Liaise or correspond with medical professionals where necessary in order to clarify an applicant's medical condition and mobility difficulties

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma level qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • An understanding of relevant accessible transport legislation and policies.
