Merton Collage are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join Fixed term contract until end of academic year. The client offers a part - time contract with an opportunity to work for 2 days betwen Tuesday - Friday.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment
  • carry out holistic occupational therapy assessments and person-centred interventions that will support the learners to access and develop their functional skills across the curriculum.
  • understand the impact of sensory differences on a persons' function and behaviour.
  • support learners, to transfer skills developed at college to the learners' home environment and community/work settings.
  • provide support and training to all staff with regard to implementing occupational therapy recommendations.
  • work in collaboration with the learner' families and carers, including community health and social care teams health and social care providers
  • To be responsible for the assessment and intervention of learners allocated to your caseload. To monitor, evaluate and modify occupational therapy intervention in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of therapy.
  • To assess learners that have sensory processing differences/challenges. To devise intervention plans to support learners to better manage their sensory processing differences and engage more effectively in learning.

To Be Successful.

  • Experience of assessing learners with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Sensory processing difficulties - formally and informally.
  • Experience of devising and implementing evidence based - intervention for learners with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Sensory processing difficulties.
  • Experience of writing reports & support plans / communication guidelines for a range of audiences and needs.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapist
  • Commitment to establishing and maintaining good working relations with colleagues and students
  • Knowledge of sensory and motor needs / learning strategies for this client group.
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification
