We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a vibrant secondary school in Ealing, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ranging from verbal to non-verbal abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the sensory, physical, and functional needs of students with ASD, tailoring interventions to their individual needs.
- Develop and implement targeted therapy plans to enhance students' engagement in learning and daily activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and families to create inclusive strategies that support students' development.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on sensory integration techniques and classroom adaptations.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children or young people with ASD, particularly in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or similar is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
