The Role

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to support adults and children across physical disabilities, mental health, learning disabilities, and paediatrics. The role involves assessing individuals with complex care needs, recommending appropriate equipment or adaptations, and conducting manual handling assessments to enhance safety and independence.

The successful candidate will work closely with housing, social work, and adaptation services, ensuring a holistic approach to assessment and care planning. Regular supervision, peer support, and CPD opportunities will be provided to support professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals with complex care needs.
  • Recommend suitable equipment and home adaptations to promote independence.
  • Carry out manual handling assessments to ensure service user and carer safety.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop personalised care plans.
  • Support the duty Occupational Therapy service, including ad-hoc home visits where necessary.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records, including assessments and risk management plans.
About You
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Disabled Facilities Grant regulations.
  • Excellent assessment and communication skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with professionals from different services.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and team contribution.
