About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team in a specialist school setting. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to integrate therapy with education, making a meaningful impact on the emotional and physical well-being of pupils with complex social, emotional, and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions tailored to pupil needs.
- Lead whole-staff training sessions focused on occupational therapy strategies, interventions, and key theories such as sensory integration and Zones of Regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teaching, support, and therapeutic colleagues to embed therapy into all aspects of school life.
- Act as a therapeutic presence across the school, supporting the holistic development and learning of pupils.
- Deliver interventions that promote emotional regulation, physical development, and access to learning for pupils with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
- Model best practices in occupational therapy and contribute to the establishment of a long-term integrated therapy approach within the school.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly in educational or therapeutic settings.
- Knowledge of sensory integration and emotional regulation approaches.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility, resilience, and commitment to delivering outstanding care and support for pupils.
