About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team in a specialist school setting. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to integrate therapy with education, making a meaningful impact on the emotional and physical well-being of pupils with complex social, emotional, and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions tailored to pupil needs.
  • Lead whole-staff training sessions focused on occupational therapy strategies, interventions, and key theories such as sensory integration and Zones of Regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching, support, and therapeutic colleagues to embed therapy into all aspects of school life.
  • Act as a therapeutic presence across the school, supporting the holistic development and learning of pupils.
  • Deliver interventions that promote emotional regulation, physical development, and access to learning for pupils with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
  • Model best practices in occupational therapy and contribute to the establishment of a long-term integrated therapy approach within the school.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly in educational or therapeutic settings.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration and emotional regulation approaches.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and commitment to delivering outstanding care and support for pupils.
