Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Neonatal Occupational Therapist to join the neonatal team at UHL or QE. The ideal candidate will specialise in developmental assessments and provide advanced neonatal OT services for high-risk neonates, supporting premature infants up to two years of age.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct developmental assessments for premature infants
  • Deliver specialist OT interventions for high-risk neonates
  • Support infants and families through early intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neonatologists, physiotherapists, and speech therapists
  • Provide expert advice and training to staff and parents
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development
Requirements
  • Experience in neonatal care within a hospital or community setting
  • Proficiency in developmental assessments for premature babies
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Postgraduate qualifications in neonatal training, such as:
    • NBO (Newborn Behavioral Observations)
    • General Movements Assessment
    • HINE (Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination)
    • Sensory Baby & Sensory Beginnings
    • FINE (Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education)
