Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Neonatal Occupational Therapist to join the neonatal team at UHL or QE. The ideal candidate will specialise in developmental assessments and provide advanced neonatal OT services for high-risk neonates, supporting premature infants up to two years of age.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct developmental assessments for premature infants
- Deliver specialist OT interventions for high-risk neonates
- Support infants and families through early intervention strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neonatologists, physiotherapists, and speech therapists
- Provide expert advice and training to staff and parents
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development
- Experience in neonatal care within a hospital or community setting
- Proficiency in developmental assessments for premature babies
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Postgraduate qualifications in neonatal training, such as:
- NBO (Newborn Behavioral Observations)
- General Movements Assessment
- HINE (Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination)
- Sensory Baby & Sensory Beginnings
- FINE (Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education)
