Job Overview:This role is based on a 42-bed rehabilitation ward that supports patients over 65 and those with complex medical needs. The Senior Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and facilitate therapy interventions to support recovery and safe discharge in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including functional and cognitive evaluations.
  • Plan and deliver therapy interventions tailored to patient-specific needs.
  • Facilitate safe discharge planning, including home access visits if required.
  • Collaborate with MDT members to ensure holistic and effective patient care.
  • Delegate tasks to rehabilitation assistants and provide support for their development.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in rehabilitation, particularly with older adults and patients with physical and cognitive deficits.
  • Familiarity with the iClip notes system is highly desirable.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
