Job Overview:We are looking for an experienced and proactive Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Medical Rehabilitation team at West Middlesex Hospital. This position supports the winter pressure period, spanning general medicine, care of the elderly, frailty, neurology, and orthopaedic outliers. It's an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic setting with a varied patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services across elderly care, orthopaedics, general medicine, and neurology.
- Assess and plan effective discharge strategies to support seamless patient transitions to home or other care settings.
- Work independently and efficiently under high-pressure, especially during peak winter demand.
- Apply a clinical understanding of falls, cognitive impairment, and common frailty syndromes in patient care and intervention.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic and effective patient-centered care.
Requirements:
Essential Criteria:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- NHS acute experience in occupational therapy
- Proficiency in discharge planning
- Experience in acute medicine, elderly care, orthopaedics, and neurology
Desirable Criteria:
- Availability to work over the Christmas period
