Hybrid: 2 days in the office minimum - All training and team meetings are onsite.

Barker Ross is looking for a Learning and Workforce Development Lead on a temporary basis to support our client within their Health and Adult Social Care sector.

The role:

To assist the Health and Adults Social Care Directorate with workforce strategy priorities and build a strong stable skilled workforce who can work with residents to achieve best outcomes

To analyse, commission and design learning interventions that are planned and costed according to service need and delivered timely.

To lead on statutory requirements, service priority's and local and national policy including Social Care and Occupational Therapy apprenticeships.

To provide learning and development opportunities for staff in Health and Adult Social Care, to comply with statutory requirements, service priorities, local and national policy's

To contribute to the development of strengths-based models and undertake research on best practice models.

To build effective relationships with staff and managers

Demonstrate initiative and drive and have a solution focused approach to work.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude.

To undertake service wide training needs analysis and recommend suitable learning interventions making best use of resources and ensuring best value for money.

To design and/or commission learning interventions that meet workforce needs adhering to company procurement policy and procedures

To lead Social Work and Occupational Therapy apprenticeships, support apprentices with the programme, work closely with university providers, ADASS, Skills for Care, SCIE and act as the SPOC for meetings and support the development of new apprenticeship standards as required by the service.

To line manage one Workforce Assistant, provide regular supervision and PRADS,

To assist in the preparation of budgets, advising on the most effective allocation of resources consistent with HAS priorities and manage grant income according to conditions.

To ensure invoices for training and other activities are raised and authorised in accordance with financial regulations.

To build relationships with external trainers to ensure quality training is delivered and adheres to equal opportunities and diversity.

This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 or as prescribed in the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) regulations. A DBS enhanced/enhanced with barred list check is an essential requirement for this role.
