Job Title: Rehousing Support Officer

Location: Southwark

Rate of Pay: 27 per hour (Umbrella)

Hours per Week: 35 hours

We are currently working to recruit for a Rehousing Support Officer within Southwark Council.

Main Duties:

  • Coordinate with internal teams to achieve vacant possession by key milestones and pre-allocate properties to eligible residents in line with lettings agreements.
  • Develop and maintain tenant movement trackers for estate renewal schemes and manage complex cases, ensuring clear communication and support throughout the process.
  • Oversee void property management, ensuring quick turnaround and compliance with policy, GLA guidance, and nomination agreements.
  • Collaborate with Southwark Construction and other departments to identify rehousing properties and support Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs).
  • Facilitate resident engagement, signpost residents to relevant services, and manage discretionary transfer requests and mutual exchanges.
  • Prepare business case reports, log data accurately, and contribute to departmental work plans, policy reviews, and regeneration strategies.
  • Provide regular reports on progress, risks, and key issues to senior management.

The Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in housing management, estate regeneration, and a solid understanding of housing policies, local lettings agreements, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and engage effectively with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience in data management, developing tracking systems, and preparing clear, detailed reports for senior management.
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude, with the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals and ensure smooth processes.
