Freelance Media Services Operator:We are assisting a Global media and entertainment company in recruiting a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freelance Media Services Operator to join their dynamic team on a 12 month contract. In this critical 24/7 role, you will play a vital part in the successful broadcast of 30,000+ hours of content annually. You will be responsible for the accurate quality control and preparation of all media assets, ensuring they meet the highest broadcast standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Processing & Preparation:
  • Accurately process media assets according to established SOPs.
  • Perform audio track additions using Adobe Audition.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks (audio/video levels, meta data accuracy) using a 5-point grading system.
  • Ensure all processed content is properly uploaded to the cloud.
  • Technical Operations:
  • Monitor and maintain broadcast equipment (vector scopes, loudness meters, waveforms).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct technical quality assessments as required.
  • Data Management:
  • Manage and maintain media meta data within broadcast systems.
  • Liaise with the Media Management team to ensure timely processing of all materials.
  • Compliance:
  • Adhere to all relevant industry regulations (OFCOM, NICAM).
  • Teamwork & Support:
  • Provide support to colleagues and contribute to team training initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Shift Work:
  • Work a 24/7 shift pattern, including 7 day shifts and 7 night shifts per month.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in a fast-paced media environment, preferably within a multi-channel broadcast setting.
    • Strong understanding of video and audio theory, including broadcast quality control standards.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition (highly desirable).
    • Familiarity with MAM systems (preferred).
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Punctual and reliable.
