We are seeking an Office Assistant Manager to join our team at a well-established Accounting and Tax Practice in based in South West London. This role is ideal for an accountant with a mature outlook who is undertaking an accounting qualification. The position involves a variety of bookkeeping, client service, operational, and ad hoc HR activities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Banking Activities: Perform and monitor daily payment and receipt transactions on business bank accounts, including Client Money activities; reconcile bank account activity.
  • Bookkeeping: Manage all financial activities for several business entities using Sage Accounting software and Excel spreadsheets. This includes the submission of quarterly VAT returns and production of annual financial accounts.
  • Client Invoicing: Produce client invoices with narratives of services provided; manage outstanding debtors; correspond with clients regarding queries and manage client payment plans.
  • Staff Management: Manage the in-house tool to track staff work hours assigned to servicing clients and other business activities, including reporting and client billing activities. Perform monthly payroll activities using Sage Payroll and manage other staff-related activities such as recruitment, contracts, appraisals, holidays, and sickness. Ensure employee training complies with CPD requirements for qualified staff.
  • Business Administration: Prepare annual insurance obligations, manage activities associated with corporate membership of professional bodies, and manage 3rd party suppliers including service contractual arrangements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Well-organised and numerate business administrator with the ability to prioritise key activities, manage initiatives simultaneously, and problem-solve.
  • Demonstrates succinct and effective written and verbal communication skills and can build rapport and relationships easily with clients and colleagues.
  • Possesses drive, determination, and attention to detail to deliver practical solutions and outcomes to clients, senior managers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, and where appropriate, act with diligence and integrity regarding sensitive business matters.
  • Technically proficient in the use of Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll, skilled in Microsoft Office applications especially Word and Excel, and adept at learning other software applications swiftly.
