Role Description

This is a hybrid role for a certification manager within the wind energy sectorto oversee the certification and regulatory compliance of offshore wind projects.

The candidate will work closely with independent certification bodies, suppliers, and project teams to ensure all projects meet industry standards for safety, quality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest offshore wind regulations. Develop strategies to ensure full compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Certification Coordination: Act as the liaison between the company, third parties such as product providers/suppliers, and external certification bodies. Facilitate audits, reviews, offshore visits and ensure all certifications are completed on time as per programme schedule.
  • Standards Adherence: Interpret and apply industry standards to project requirements. Develop and implement internal processes that align with certification needs.
  • Schedule and Cost Management: Monitor project timelines and costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules. Implement corrective measures when necessary.
  • Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to certification processes. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposure.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of all certification documentation and traceability. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and implement quality assurance protocols, ensuring that projects meet or exceed certification requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address any certification-related challenges and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance certification methodologies, processes, and best practices for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in certification processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience in the wind energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Aconex and SAP is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with certification bodies, product providers/suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to risk management and mitigation.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation management skills.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality and compliance.
The position is based in the UK, on a hybrid basis, initially with attendance to the clients premises in London as projects kick off.

Long term contract/ permanent role available.
