Your key duties:

  • To develop and lead the implementation of the organisations social media strategy to further raise the profile of the organisation and drive up positive engagement - setting aims and objectives and scoping opportunities for greater influence and outreach.
  • To oversee the creation of social-first content across all existing channels (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and create a consistent narrative that appeals to a diverse range of audiences.
  • To work closely with other members of the Digital Engagement team to ensure the social media output is closely aligned with the overall strategy to produce engaging and effective content for its audience.
  • To provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on maximising the potential of social media across all platforms to promote important work, highlighting risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • To respond quickly and sensitively to negative or critical social media, particularly Twitter/X, storms and pile-ons, limiting potential damage to the reputation of the organisation.
  • To work with the Head of Media and PR, press office and other internal teams to ensure that the organisation is presented in the best possible light and that members are publicly supported and defended where appropriate.

Working arrangements:

  • Hybrid 1 - 2 days on site a week.
  • 35 hours a week.
  • Flexible working.

What we look for

  • Immediately available or have a 1-2 week notice period.
  • Press/ media relations experience.
  • Line management experience.
  • Public or Charity Sector experience as a Social Media Manager or higher.
