Job Description:

To carry out specified duties within the Assurance and Compliance Service team in accordance with the Council's polices, priorities, procedures and relevant legislation.

Specifically, to provide a high-quality customer focused income maximisation, arrears reduction and repossession service to the Council's residents, and all internal and external partners or organisations working with the Council.

Providing support and advice to residents in financial difficulty, with low incomes, unmanageable debts or other vulnerabilities and signposting them to support services in a professional and cost-effective manner.

Where preventative action fails, you will be required to take appropriate recovery steps and possible legal action to recover the debt.

The role requires regular monitoring of rent accounts to detect and prevent arrears in accordance with the pre-action protocol and the Council's arrears recovery procedure.

To demonstrate commitment and support for safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.
