We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Art Teacher to join our dynamic team, we are a specialist SEN uniy. You will be working with Key Stage 4 and 5 students who face significant physical, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to explore their creative potential.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and therapeutic art lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Use art as a tool for expression, building confidence, and fostering emotional resilience.
  • Manage a creative and inclusive classroom environment, while addressing the challenges of behaviour management.
  • Work closely with the wider staff team, including SEN specialists, pastoral care, and external agencies, to provide holistic support for each student.
  • Inspire students to gain qualifications in Art & Design, and nurture their talents through projects that reflect their personal growth and development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with SEMH students or in a PRU setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Art & Design, with the ability to deliver across KS4 and KS5.
  • A creative and flexible approach to teaching, adapting to the emotional and behavioural needs of the students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning
