Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Stratford, East Ham, and Plaistow. You will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviours, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to provide emotional and behavioural support
- Implement tailored intervention strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a safe and structured learning environment
- Support students in managing their emotions, developing social skills, and improving self-regulation
- Act as a role model, promoting resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to student progress
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour management
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- The ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or similar setting is desirable
