Behaviour Mentor Needed

Are you a passionate behaviour mentor looking to improve the lives of young people?

We're seeking a behaviour mentor for a full-time role starting as soon as possible. The role will be based within varying school settings, and will have responsibilities spanning both 1:1 and small group settings within the classroom, needing a flexible and adaptable person to support young people with adverse behaviours.

Requirements:

  • Experience in PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings is preferred, but not essential.
  • Other trainings in subjects such as Conflict Resolution or Team Teach are valued.
  • Resilience and Empathy: Demonstrate the ability to support students with diverse needs and to set clear behavioural guidelines when presented with challenging behaviours.
  • Clear Boundary Setting: Establish and maintain clear boundaries to create a structured learning environment.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: the right candidate will be able to quickly form effective working relationship and will enjoy a fast-paced but rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, re-directing negative behaviours and promoting positive engagement.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide teacher with feedback to support their social and emotional development.
