Reports To: Assistant Head for Behaviour and Training

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) to join our school. The BCBA will be responsible for supporting the ABA supervisors and class leads in conducting assessments, developing skill acquisition programs, developing individualised behaviour reduction plans and providing behavioural skills training and support to staff and families. The goal is to improve the communication, play, leisure, social, independence and academic outcomes for our pupils at Snowflake School.

You will:

  • Promote the values, ethos and aims of the school
  • To ensure that their working ethos reflects the agreed aims, principles and values including the policy on equal opportunities, thereby promoting the general progress and well-being of every member of the Snowflake community
  • Make use of principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Skinners analysis of Verbal Behavior to develop effective instruction and maintain evidence based effective interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and be first point of contact for a team of 2 ABA Supervisors and 3 ABA Class leads, providing appropriate guidance and supervision
  • Play an active role in the termly assessment of Supervisor/Class Lead competencies
  • Deliver training as agreed with the Assistant Head for Behaviour and Training
  • Provide feedback to Supervisors/Class Leads as appropriate
  • Meet regularly with the Assistant Head for Behaviour and Training

Assessments:

  • Support ABA Class Leads/Supervisors to conduct developmental and functional assessments to identify appropriate target skills for development
  • Support ABA Class Leads/supervisors as necessary to conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) to identify the reasons behind challenging behaviours
  • Provide one-on-one or small group ABA sessions as needed
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to teach replacement behaviours and skill acquisition.

  • Continue to remain up to date with the latest research in the field
  • Always maintain the safeguarding and well-being of pupil
  • Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures including those relating to pupil protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Be aware of and ensure that all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, or a related field
  • Current Board Certification as a Behaviour Analyst (BCBA/UKBACert)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong experience in the application of behaviour analytic principles and evidence-based practices
