About the Role:Are you passionate about early years education and eager to inspire the next generation of Early Years professionals? We are seeking a motivated and experienced Early Years Lecturer to join a dedicated team at a leading Further Education and Training College based in South London. In this role, you will teach students on Early Years courses, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the sector.As an Early Years Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to shape students' academic journeys, deliver engaging lessons and contribute to the development of the curriculum. You will be expected to guide and motivate learners, ensuring they are prepared for rewarding careers in early years education and care.

Key Duties of an Early Years Lecturer:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons across a range of Early Years topics, including child development, safeguarding and curriculum planning.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work, including assignments, projects and practical activities.
  • Offer academic guidance and pastoral care to students, ensuring they are worked with throughout their learning journey.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and improvements to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous professional development opportunities.

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant degree or qualification in Early Years Education or a related subject.
  • A full UK recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
  • Experience of teaching Early Years Education at further education and training level and experience working within the Early Years sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Early Years Education, child development and safeguarding.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (mandatory requirement).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in early years settings.
  • Knowledge of current developments and best practices in Early Years education.
  • Ability to lead and work with students with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Willingness to travel in and around South London.
