GSL Education London Branch are excited to announce an opportunity for a Food Technology Subject Leader to join a vibrant coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. Responsibilities of the Food Technology Subject Leader:
  • Plan, deliver, and lead engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 to KS5.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to support their development.
  • Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence in the school community.
  • Organise and oversee practical lessons, ensuring health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Inspire students to develop practical cooking skills and theoretical knowledge of nutrition, food science, and sustainability.
Requirements for the Food Technology Subject Leader:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum and its delivery.
  • A passion for education and the ability to inspire young minds.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
