This role is not hybrid. It is office based.

Please note this organisation have a 4 day working week. Monday to Thursday. Paying a salary equivalent to £30 050 for 4 days.

The Housing & Arrears Officer will manage the properties belonging to the Housing Association and deliver responsive housing services to tenants. They will handle administrative and financial tasks related to property management and contribute to policy and service development.

Join the team as a Housing & Arrears Officer, managing rent arrears and supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies. You'll monitor accounts, offer tailored advice and ensure timely payments, through effective communication and assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess housing applicants and maintain the waiting list.
  • Issue tenancy agreements and ensure compliance.
  • Support tenants with agency referrals (e.g., Housing Benefits).
  • Oversee property lettings, voids, repairs and service connections.
  • Conduct regular property visits and ensure maintenance standards.
  • Ensure rent collection and accurate record-keeping.
  • Monitor arrears, implement policies, represent in court if necessary.
  • Mediate tenant disputes and implement anti-harassment policies.
  • Provide rehousing advice and handle property handbacks.
  • Stay updated on housing legislation.
