Our client, a leading organisation in the public sector housing industry, is currently seeking an Intensive Tenancy Support Officer on a temporary basis. This role is based in Romford, conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Romford train station.

As an Intensive Tenancy Support Officer, your primary responsibility will be to provide early intervention and ongoing support to individuals with multiple and complex needs, ensuring they do not revert to rough sleeping after discharge from the hospital. You will deliver a high-quality service to clients who are housed in accommodation and have complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to individuals in developing and sustaining their quality of life
  • Create and implement personalised support plans, engaging various support agencies
  • Offer advice on a broad range of topics including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and the promotion of personal independence
  • Act as the main point of contact for casework within the accommodation, coordinating solutions for drug and alcohol, domestic violence, and mental health issues
  • Ensure a high-quality and well-maintained environment for clients
  • Assist with safeguarding and vulnerability concerns to ensure a smooth transition into suitable accommodation
  • Manage nuisance and anti-social behaviour casework in accordance with licence agreements, tenancy or leases
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments to provide solutions for safeguarding and vulnerability, ensuring the maintenance of properties and the well-being of residents
  • Participate in assessments to co-design person-centred, strength-based support plans

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in providing intensive one-to-one support to individuals with complex needs
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to housing support
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach towards clients
  • Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
