Active Recruitment are currently working with an Outstanding Alternative Provision in West London who are looking for a Mentor with a strong background in Maths or Tedchnology to join them after them ASAP on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year As a Mentor within the provision you will play a key role in the educational development and well-being of individuals with behavioural needs and need targeted support outside of a mainstream setting.

Roles and responsibilities of the Mentor with Maths

  • Deliver pre-planned sessions around Maths and/or Technology to small groups of secondary aged pupils.
  • Focus on the engagement of young people within a secure and supporting setting.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence
  • Promote high standards of behavior, responding to incidents in line with the school’s behavior policy and guidelines on physical intervention
  • Adapt communication style to respond to pupils according to their individual needs
  • Assist with the development and delivery of individual education and support plans
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs, escalating concerns where appropriate
