The Mechanics Instructor Job
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Mechanics Instructor looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a dedicated teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 4-16 in Wandsworth, Tooting, specialising in supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues You will specifically be working with students of a secondary age working with a specialised curriculum to enhance the students engagement in education and BTECH subjects. In this rewarding Mechanical Instructor role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as a Mechanics Instructor will help develop individualised learning plans that focus on and develop the students independence and understanding of the subject.
The School
The successful Mechanic Instructor applicant would be joining a large and well established school in Tooting (Wandsworth) for children with SEMH difficulties. Each student has an EHCP and there is a supportive team of experts to make sure that each student can reach their full potential. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs. The curriculum allows the students to gain independence and life skills.
Mechanical Instructor Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Teach and guide students through practical and theoretical aspects of motor vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
- Deliver lessons on various mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems in line with the curriculum.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the Food technology teacher in the classroom.- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.
Mechanics Instructor Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with motor vehicle mechanics, repair and diagnostics - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable, but not essential
- Relevant mechanical/ City and Guilds qualifications - Strong knowledge of working and supporting students with SEMH needs. - Experience working in a special needs or SEMH environment is preffered- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
