School Caretaker | South East London
Rate: £16 - £18 per hour
Contract: Temporary, Part time - 20 hours per week
Hours: 1pm until 7pm
Start Date: ASAP
Remedy are seeking a diligent and renowned Caretaker to work with one of our fantastic and welcoming Primary Schools in South East London to work as a Site Caretaker. The successful applicant must have previous experience in facilities and site management with excellent communication skills and a firm commitment to the school in every regard.
School Caretaker | Responsibilities
- Locking or unlocking of the school as required and ensuring general security of the site.
- Routine maintenance of school buildings and grounds and undertaking minor repair work, for example changing light bulbs, erecting shelves, painting and redecorating, minor plumbing, as well as grounds maintenance including grass-cutting
- Cleaning duties including litter, bins, and toilets; assistance with deep cleaning of classroom and school pool/changing rooms.
- Support the school policies and procedures, for example relating to child safeguarding and data protection, and contributing to the trust ethos.
- Day-to-day maintenance, security, and preparation of facilities.
- Understanding of and the implementation of Health and Safety and Security protocols.
- Flexibility and high standards of workmanship.
- Proven range of maintenance and facility management skills.
School Caretaker | Requirements
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience as a caretaker in a school setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- To have or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service.
- Provide a minimum of two references to cover the last 24 months of employment.
- Right to work in the UK.
