An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join one of Adecco's most improved public sector clients in a part time (28 hours/4 days per week) temporary booking, initially for 3 months (but with every possibility of being extended).

Reporting into the Income & Sustainability Manager on a daily basis and joining the income team, this role will provide support and advice on areas of financial inclusion, including, welfare benefits and income maximisation to residents. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a high level of personal contact with tenants to maximise engagement and minimise rent arrears.

Key elements of the role include:

* Identifying, developing and maintaining links with services in the community that assist in sustaining tenancies, including training and employment opportunities, benefit and welfare advisory services, and financial inclusion projects

* Working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to provide support to residents to sustain their tenancies.

* Providing specialist welfare benefit advice to residents, assessing their entitlement to benefit, supporting them in making claims by completing complex applications, acting as their advocate, challenging decisions about housing and welfare benefits and representing residents at tribunals.

* Completing income and expenditure statements with residents to assess those who require further support and signpost them to the most appropriate organisation

* Providing residents with basic money management advice

* Completing financial health checks for prospective and new residents at the start of their tenancy

* Working closely with Income Recovery Officers to help reduce rent arrears in accordance with organisational current procedures.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of providing welfare benefits and financial inclusion advice in the social housing sector, as well as experience of working with a wide spectrum of welfare, benefit and advice organisations.
