Art and Design Technology Technician

We are seeking a creative and practical individual with a passion for the arts and technology to join our vibrant and supportive team as an Art and Design Technology Technician. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic educational environment and is committed to supporting the development of young creative minds.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for Art and Design Technology lessons.
  • Assist teaching staff with the setup of practical activities and ensure all resources are ready for use.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in workshops, studios, and classrooms.
  • Provide technical support to students during practical lessons, guiding them in the safe use of equipment and materials.
  • Manage the inventory of supplies and order materials as needed to ensure continuous availability.
  • Assist in the development and installation of creative displays and exhibitions of students’ work.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and traditional workshop tools.

About You:

  • Experience in a similar role or a strong background in Art, Design Technology, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of using and maintaining workshop tools, machinery, and digital equipment.
  • A creative flair and attention to detail, with the ability to assist in both traditional and modern design processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to supporting students in their learning and creativity.
