Are you an experienced and compassionate SENCO looking to make a real difference? TimePlan is working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary ASD school located in Southwark. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our supportive team.
Role Overview: As a SENCO at the school, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest level of support for the students, with a particular focus on sensory needs, communication support, attendance, and annual reviews. You will work closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that each child's individual needs are met in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sensory and Communication Support: Lead on strategies to support sensory processing challenges and communication needs, collaborating with specialist staff to create tailored interventions.
- Attendance: Monitor and improve student attendance, working with families and the wider school team to remove barriers and encourage full engagement in school life.
- Annual Reviews: Manage and facilitate annual reviews for students with EHCPs, ensuring all relevant parties are involved and that the needs of each student are addressed.
- Teaching: Deliver up to a day and a half of timetabled teaching, working directly with students to support their learning and development.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified SENCO
- Proven experience as a SENCO, ideally within a SEND setting
- A strong understanding of sensory processing difficulties, communication strategies, and ASD-related challenges.
- Experience with managing annual reviews and writing high-quality reports.
- A collaborative approach, working well with staff, families, and external professionals.
- A passion for creating an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
