- Deliver training and tools to the SEND Service regarding coproduction, keeping the child/young person at the heart of a person-centred approach and having regard to the voice of the child/young person and the aspirations of the family at all times.
- Support the SEND Service Manager in reporting on the quality of EHCPs to the SEND Improvement Board through audits and findings of the Quality Assurance Group.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with families, schools, and partners in Health and Social Care to ensure shared understanding throughout the statutory process, as well as relevant and high-quality advice. To responsibly challenge and support where standards are not met.
- lead on the consideration of and response to complaints relating to the SEND Service, liaising with others to ensure that concerns are dealt with appropriately, and at the earliest possible stage.
- Proven experience in leading SEND funding changes and financial system improvements
- Strong knowledge of SEND statutory responsibilities and school place planning
- Expertise in negotiating and delivering SEND school places with schools/MATs
- Senior leadership experience in a local authority or similar setting
- Skilled in managing complex educational capital programmes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders
- Recognised and relevant professional qualifications e.g. teaching qualifications, social work, other level 6 qualifications, management qualifications.
- Evidence of skills, knowledge and experience to be able to assess and manage risk for the most vulnerable children.
- Work in a Social Services Directorate or other Statutory or Voluntary Agency.
