Subject Access Request & Disclosures Officer

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a well-established Charity Organisation in their search for an interimSubject Access Request & Disclosures Officer to provide support to the Data Protection and Compliance Team in complying with the law and providing internal advice.

You will be responsible for identifying a comprehensive and best practice approach to data protection and fundraising compliance. You will also be responsible for the organisation complies with all legal requirements in relation to information governance and other relevant law, in particular the processing of personal data.

The successful candidate will be someone with an in-depth working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and other relevant law, guidance and codes of practice.

You must have the ability to respond quickly, flexibly and calmly to urgent data protection queries. You must also have excellent written communication skills to understand, interpret and present complex information.

Job Title: Subject Access Request & Disclosures Officer

Location: Hybrid working (1 day per week London)

Daily rate: £145 per day

Job Type: Temp Contract (3 months, likely to be made permanent)

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and champion a comprehensive and best practice approach to data protection and fundraising compliance
• Must ensure the organisation complies with all legal requirements in relation to information governance and other relevant law, in particular the processing of personal data
• Provide in-house compliance advice on data protection and privacy and fundraising compliance issues, reviewing DPIAs, LIAs and other risk assessments
• Assist the Data Protection Manager in identifying, reporting, and investigating personal data breach incidents
• Maintain the operational services of police disclosure requests and data subject rights requests.

Person Specification

• Good and in-depth working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and other relevant law, guidance and codes of practice
• Must be able to organise and plan own work and manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to respond quickly, flexibly and calmly to urgent data protection queries
• Must have the ability to apply the technical aspects of data protection legislation to practical scenarios and to provide pragmatic and strategic advice
• Must have highly developed written communication skills to understand, interpret and present complex information
