Technical Artist Location: UK, London (Remote)Length: 6 months Rate: £40.00 p/h (Inside IR35) Hours: 40 hours per weekJob OverviewBecome a part of the Technical Art Team and contribute to pioneering technologies that will define the future of Avatars on mobile platforms. This role offers the chance to explore new possibilities in Avatar development for mobile platforms using Spark.As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative and engaging interactions for Avatars, as well as develop the essential core technologies for the integration with various systems. This role offers a path of innovation, creativity, and the potential to impact billions of users.Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to develop a Spark-based mobile application for Avatars.
  • Design, implement, and maintain runtime logic in Spark with an emphasis on performance.
  • Develop and maintain art and animation pipelines to support data ingestion.
  • Provide technical and artistic support, including diagnosing and fixing bugs, and ensuring best practices for asset creation
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment, collaborating, iterating, and resolving issues efficiently with TA leads and cross-functional leaders
Typical day-to-day activities:
  • Design the avatars, Code, and maintain the art pipeline.
  • Meet with product managers, and animators to understand what data has to be ingested into the app. They will also have to create the logic and visuals to create experiences by doing some Type of scrips – this is our client's equivalent of javascript
  • Build tools for Artists to ingest their work into the app
  • shipping products with rigorous performance constraints, such as complex mobile apps or 3D games
Top 3 must-have skills:
  • 2-3 years in Spark, type script / java script
  • Python
  • Unity or unreal engines – game development understanding
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Spark development, including scripting in JavaScript or TypeScript and shader writing in SparkSL
  • Experience with real-time game engine development (e.g. Unity, Unreal) and content authoring (modelling, lighting, animation)
  • Experience shipping products with rigorous performance constraints, such as complex mobile apps or 3D games.
  • Experience with Python, C# or C++ in complex real-time 3D applications
  • Experience developing artist pipelines and tooling
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment solving complex problems with artists and engineers
  • Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, including XR, AI, USD
  • Knowledge of parametric 3D content creation
  • Knowledge of data ingestion pipelines
