Our client a national charity is currently seeking their next Treasurer to join their board of trustees. Our client works for a world where animals and humans lead healthy, happy lives, free from suffering. They support scientists to deliver better treatments for patients faster by championing the transition from animal-based to human-specific medical research.
Our client is now looking to strengthen their Board and is seeking a Treasurer – an experienced accountant to support the Board, CEO and Finance Director in the successful delivery of the charity’s financial responsibilities. This includes provision of advice, guidance, challenge and reassurance on all aspects of the charity’s financial activities, ensuring that our strategic plans are underpinned by robust and fit for purpose financial management.
The Treasurer contributes to the strategy and direction of the charity and exercises oversight of financial matters in accordance with good practice, the governing document, and legal requirements. The Treasurer reports to the board of trustees at regular intervals on the financial health of the organisation.
Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards the charitable purpose for which it was established, and Trustee roles are an important and highly rewarding way to support an organisation. Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated voluntary positions, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
Our client is committed to equality of opportunity, supports, and encourages under-represented groups, and values diversity. We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board, and having reviewed the existing Trustee's diversity, skills, and experience, are keen for the Board to reflect the diversity of the communities that they work with and therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Please contact Heidi Earp, Director of Langton Not 4 Profit our retained consultants for further information on the role.
