Payroll Analyst

A prestigious client in the Insurance sector is presently seeking a skilled Payroll Analyst to join their dynamic Finance department. This is a permanent position based in their head office. The client is a well-established entity, recognized for its committed approach to enabling clients manage risk effectively and grow sustainably.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive management and processing of the payroll system to ensure accuracy and timeliness in payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifying and recommending updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll data and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Serving as a liaison to employees and external vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies.

Person Specification:

  • MUST BE CIPP qualified with a minimum two + years' PQ experience within Financial Services, Insurance or multi-national business.
  • End to end in-house payroll experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, payroll tax laws and payroll software.
  • Confident interrogating and analysing high volumes of data with an attention to detail, advanced excel skills
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and ability to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Strong control mindset and experience
  • Advanced excel skills

Reporting Relationships/Interactions:

  • Reports to Corporate Centre Financial Controller
  • Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including Business Unit finance teams, and external auditors.
