Title: Head Office Payroll Accountant

Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Central London, 1/2 days WFH

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefits

Our client is a multinational commodities trading group, headquartered in London. They are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join their high performing finance team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of monthly Payroll for approx. 100 head office employees.
  • Responsibility for the preparation and control of intercompany, related party and third party reconciliations.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations and payment instructions
  • Ensure all ledgers kept are up-to date (including daily bank reconciliations) and ownership of several accounting areas including (but not limited to) prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, inter-company positions, payroll journals, AR/AP ledgers and clearing of suspense and contra accounts;
  • Preparation and input of journal entries for approval by Group Accountants
  • Assisting Group Accountants with quarter end procedures.
  • Assisting Chief Accountant with further accounting tasks when required
  • Ensuring that accounting controls are adhered to at all times
  • Maintenance and quarterly uploading of the Company’s lease, depreciation, deferred charges, interest accruals and other accounting schedules as required.
  • Researching technical accounting issues and preparation of file notes and accounting memos for non-routine commercial transactions. (depending on experience)

Role Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be a part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with at least 5 years experience in an accounting function
  • Payroll experience is essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as a part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Candidates must have advanced Excel skills/analytical skills
