Freelance Payroll Specialist - UK

  • Work set-up: Working 5 days a week: 2-3 days in-house with 1-2 days remote per week

This global streaming entertainment company is seeking a UK Payroll Specialist to be a key player in their international payroll team.

You'll work cross-functionally, especially across US and UK time zones, ensuring smooth payroll operations and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll & expenses for UK entities using Workday.
  • Manage relationships with HMRC & tax advisory firms.
  • Ensure accurate & timely payroll covering base pay, taxes, pensions, benefits, and shadow payroll.
  • Handle wage tax filings & compliance.
  • Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Partner with HR, Employee Services & Legal for an excellent payroll experience.
  • Sole payroll specialist in the UK team.

Skills

  • Degree in Finance, Tax, or Accounting (preferred)

  • 5+ years UK payroll experience (multi-entity processing)

  • Workday expertise is a must (in-house processing)

  • Strong Excel & reporting skills

  • Great communicator, adaptable & detail-oriented

  • Fluent in English
