This firm is medium sized with just over 100 fee earners, specialising in Corporate and Property law. They are based in prestigious offices in the West End.

We have an exciting opportunity for a strong Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Manage and maintain the ADP payroll portal, liaising with ADP for monthly payroll execution
  • Processing pay in relation to all absences i.e. family leave, sickness, sabbatical
  • Processing any personal information changes i.e. address, name, bank
  • Upload bulk data templates to ADP as appropriate i.e. bonuses, salary increases, medical/dental, wellbeing loans/subsidies, additional holiday, overtime etc
  • Process employee starters, leavers, and contractual changes, ensuring that the correct documentation is received and is correctly recorded
  • Processing all benefit changes including Medical, Dental, STL, PHI and Wellbeing loans/subsidies
  • Complete annual P11d submission and manage move to payrolling benefits
  • Handle salary exchange schemes, including pension contributions, cycle-to-work loans, and childcare vouchers
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and pension regulations, including pension auto-enrolment, opt-outs, and liaising with brokers/providers as needed
  • Assist with the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement process
  • Process and coordinate third-party payments (HMRC, pension providers, childcare vouchers, and court orders)
  • Assist with payroll related audit queries
  • Payroll Administration & Employee Support
  • Address employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
  • Perform payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data
  • Assist in the salary review process by providing payroll insights and calculations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee payroll information
  • Process Improvement & Optimisation
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within payroll operations
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Lead on reviewing our existing payroll provider

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in a similar role (3-5 years) and working independently
  • Knowledge of ADP’s iHCM (desirable)
  • Confident with UK payroll regulations and legislation
  • Preferably holding a formal qualification, part or fully CIPP qualified
  • Preferably available on 1 month notice
  • Detailed Knowledge of statutory payments and deductions, salary sacrifices, flexible benefits and pension schemes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised manner with ability to prioritise workload
  • Motivated and pro-active with a 'can-do' approach
  • Can adhere to tight and demanding deadlines
