Job Summary:

The Payroll Supervisor serves as the key figure ensuring accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and effective team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payrolls, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and company policies.
  • Ensure precise application of pension calculations and adjustments, including family leave and sickness absence.
  • Perform manual calculations and ensure accurate updates to the HR/Payroll system, including Gross to Net, PAYE, NICs, and pension contributions.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team, managing daily workflow and addressing complex payroll issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll-related legislation and conduct regular audits of payroll records to maintain accuracy and adherence to policies.

Specification:

  • Extensive experience in payroll processing, with proficiency in manual payroll calculations
  • Experience working within the public sector, higher education sector (highly desirable)
  • Experience managing or supervising a team of payroll professionals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
