- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the payroll team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
- Manage and resolve complex payroll queries, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation including PAYE, RTI, NMW, and pensions
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of payroll professionals
- Contribute to audits, year-end processes, and payroll reconciliations
- Troubleshoot issues within Resourcelink and support the testing and implementation of new system functionality
- Serve as a primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external payroll providers
- Proven experience leading or supervising a payroll team within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- In-depth understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Skilled in using payroll systems (Resourcelink) and familiar with HR platforms like Workday
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- CIPP qualification is advantageous but not essential
- Prior involvement in ERP or payroll system transitions is a plus
