Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Emergency Lighting Engineer to join our team in the Social Housing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing emergency lighting systems across a portfolio of residential properties. This role ensures tenant safety and compliance with statutory regulations while delivering a high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission emergency lighting systems in accordance with current regulations and standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of emergency lighting systems, identifying and rectifying faults.
- Carry out scheduled testing to ensure systems comply with BS 5266 and other relevant standards.
- Record all inspections and remedial work accurately, maintaining compliance with safety legislation.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs.
- Replace or upgrade components as necessary to maintain system reliability and safety.
Key Skills and Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 or equivalent in Inspection and Testing.
- BS 5266 Emergency Lighting Certification (desirable).
- Valid ECS card.
- Proven experience in emergency lighting installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with social housing properties and understanding of tenant needs.
