A Nurse is required to work for a renowned private ophthalmic medical clinic on Queen Anne Street (Bond Street tube station).
Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm with some flexibility. This Nurse role is challenging and intellectually stimulating as you will be assisting a prominent professor retinal surgery (cataract and vitrectomy) as well as assist the Research team with the retinal studies such as YAG laser vitreolysis and surgery for Vision Degrading Myodesopsiae, Photo-Biomodulation and Gene Therapy in AMD, Wide Field OCT and Imaging of the Peripheral Vitreoretinal Interface.

Salary depends on experience, up to 38k. Previous experience in a hospital setting is required, and assisting with surgeries is advantageous. Working in a private medical sector is a must.

Nurse Duties:
Being independent, competent and confident with assisting with all retina surgeries (vitrectomy and cataract), study surgeries and procedures including indirect laser, FFA, Photo-Biomodulation, Intravitreal Injections, centrifuge, drawing blood and processing urine and blood samples.
Pre op assessments
Scanning and examining retina and study patients
Liaising with the research assistant regarding all retinal studies and to assist with the coordination and organisation of the studies.
Contacting patients to schedule appointments and follow ups if required
Dealing with administrative duties
Daily set up of the surgery room ensuring the room is stocked and equipment is clean and switched on ready to use
Regular stock takes and ensuring all equipment is appropriately maintained and calibrated as required
Ordering and keeping stock of medicines and consumables.
