Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist with Cardiography Experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in venepuncture and experience in performing ECG (Electrocardiogram) procedures. This role involves working directly with patients, ensuring accurate sample collection, and conducting basic cardiographic tests to assist clinicians in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy Duties:
- Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including infection control guidelines.
- Ensure accurate documentation of collected samples and patient details.
- Provide reassurance and clear communication to patients during the blood collection process.
- Maintain and manage phlebotomy equipment, ensuring it is clean and in working condition.
Cardiography Duties:
- Conduct ECG tests on patients, ensuring proper electrode placement for accurate readings.
- Record and interpret basic ECG results, flagging any abnormalities to the supervising clinician.
- Maintain ECG equipment, ensuring regular calibration and cleanliness.
- Assist in preparing reports for clinicians based on ECG findings.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during cardiographic procedures.
General Duties:
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medical records, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy and cardiography through training and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Certification:
- Certification in Phlebotomy from a recognized institution.
- Certification or proven experience in performing ECGs (Electrocardiography).
- Current registration with a healthcare professional body (if applicable).
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in phlebotomy, with hands-on cardiography experience.
- Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or diagnostic laboratories is preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent venepuncture technique with minimal patient discomfort.
- Proficiency in operating ECG machines and interpreting basic results.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach toward patients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in sample collection and data recording.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of additional diagnostic procedures related to cardiovascular health.
